Before its launch on market, RENAULT worked on a  convertible version of RENAULT 5. First was presented by the dressmaker Cacharel, and Maurice Calka (designer)

 Conceived during summer 1976 by the  sculptor Calka, with the assistance of the Cacharel dressmaker, this Convertible Renault 5 appeared a little before the auto Fair in its initial configuration with large rectangular red lights laid out horizontally.

 Following enthusisiasm showned to this prototype, Cacharel decided making out another specimen, less expensive (with the rear lights of series) for the auto fair of "Porte de Versailles" in Paris.
